"Raising the Roof" Report on California Housing Released, May 2000

The California Department of Housing and Community Development has released the Statewide Housing Plan update, entitled "Raising the Roof: California Housing Development Projections and Constraints, 1997-2020."   The report's principal author is John Landis.  Landis is Professor of City and Regional Planning at the University of California and an affiliate of the Berkeley Program on Housing and Urban Policy.

The two-volume report provides a county-by-county assessment of housing needs, constraints and projections. Particular issues addressed in the report include land supply, local development regulations, capital flows, and affordability.
